(EICR) ELECTRICAL INSTALATION CONDITION REPORTS

EICR's

An EICR is typically carried out at 5 or 10 year intervals, for a few reasons;

  • Ensuring electrical soundness & saftey.
  • Preventative maintenance, keeping the property well maintained can help identify any potential hazards early on.
  •  Legal compliance, Under the private rented sector, Landlords have a duty to carry out ElCR's at required intervals.

Following an EICR, the customer instructing the work is provided with the Report followed by observations.

  • Should the report be "satisfactory" - your installation is safe & complaint, no work required.
  • Should the report be "unsatisfactory" (CI,C2,Fl codes) remedialworks must be arranged.

Under the "observations" page of your EICR, the competent inspector shall make notes of all findings that may be deemed unsafe, these observations are then given a condition code :

C1: Danger present, risk of injury, immediate action required !

C2: Potentially dangerous, urgent remedial work required.

C3: Improvement Recommended, this may only be advisories.

Fl: Further Investigation required
